Excellent guitar with a beautiful finish

After many years I was looking to replace an older guitar. One that had been refretted twice and rather than a third time I thought I was ready for a new (extra) guitar. I looked at all kinds of instruments and read a ton of reviews. One consideration was color since I had always wanted a blue guitar though that was a secondary thought. I still wanted a quality and well sounding guitar.



Eventually I settled on this one by Luna. I am very pleased with it. The sound is bright consistant the fret board easy to play. The finish is absolutely fantastic. I was worried there might be some blemishes or uneveness to the instrument's finish and construction (blue can make any unpleasant nick or scratch stand out) but I looked it over carefully from top to bottom it's perfect. Amazing craftsmanship.



The keys are high quality as is every other component part. The built in tuner is a big plus. The electronics work with no problems and the sound is consistant with good tone even when plugged into an amp (I used a small Fender).



The (stock) strings are heavy but I plan to change those over my favorite light strings. No big deal there.



Overall this is a great instrument well worth the price. For those interested Luna guitars is in Tampa Florida and is a women owned and operated company. I find the the finish as insprirational and if your're going to have an instrument why not get one that looks great?More detail ...

Scaled down to size for women?

I have short fingers and was thrilled to learn that guitars are being made to fit a woman's hands. To my disappointment the Fauna Butterfly's frets were 1/16th of an inch shorter than the Alvarez Acoustic guitar that I own which isn't going to make reaching those frets any easier. The neck was just as wide as my Alvarez. In comparison the Daisy Rock electric that I own has frets a quarter inch shorter than a standard guitar; the neck on the Daisy Rock is more narrow than the Luna. Outside of that the action was set very nicely; all of the fret markers were perfect (no buzzing). The maple top gives a "brighter" sound than a spruce top but not as big of a sound as the body is a bit smaller than my standard size acoustic. It plays very well and the electric pickup is nice to have and includes a tuner as well which is a sweet feature. The inlay work is beautiful as is the finish which makes it difficult for me to decide if I'm going to keep this guitar that isn't going to be any easier for me to play. Decisions decision.!
